Closing a project or phase

Closing is done as a last thing of the project, but it needs to be planned in the beginning of the project. Closing is perfect time to learn. Project is now over, but involved people have not yet forgotten all the pains and good things about the project. Previous projects can be used as an example for future projects, so documenting troubles and best practices is very important. And it’s important that those documents are accessible (easy to find and permission to use) for future project managers. This is applicable to individual project phases too.

Things to do:

  • Reviews
  • Approvals
  • Gathering all documentation
  • Lessons learned / Post Mortem
